Oodle provides online classified advertisements services for users and advertisers in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, India and Ireland through three websites. There is no cost to post an advertisement on Oodle.

Oodle's main categories are "vehicles for sale", "real estate", "apartments for rent", "jobs", "pets for sale", "items for sale", "tickets for sale", "personals" and "services".

The types of vehicles for sale include cars, recreational vehicles, boats, motorcycles and airplanes. Real estate encompasses commercial property, apartments, single-family homes, condominiums and townhomes, land, foreclosuresand vacation property, among others that are for sale as well as for rent. In addition, the rental section provides listings for finding roommates.

The "jobs" categories include listings for everything from Accounting and Finance jobs to Work from Home jobs, along with many others. There is even a category labeled "Everything Else" to cover any other links.

Among the pets offered for sale are birds, cats, dogs, horses, goats, cows, pot-bellied pigs, sheep and lambs. The "small and furry" category includes sugar gliders, ferrets, fancy ratsand a raccoon. The reptiles available include snakes, bearded dragon lizards, geckosand iguanas.

The catchy name "Oodle" comes from a brainstorming session in an Italian restaurant, one that appeared to be going nowhere until one of the founders suggested "ravioli" because "everyone loves ravioli". The other founder did not agree, but put forth "noodle". A third member of the group, however, hit the nail on the head when she said "oodle", because that's the place to find oodles of classified listings. Oodle won.

The Oodle network includes such websites as AOL Classifieds, Lycos Classifieds, Local.com Classifieds and Military.com Classified. In addition, some print and broadcast sites also advertise on Oodle. Oodle was founded in early 2005, by former Excite and eBay executives. Currently, the management team includes Craig Donato, Kevin Doerr, Faith Sedlin, Scott Kister and others. It is a privately held entity, based in San Mateo, California.
